Not sure if here or gunsmithing is the best place for this, so we’ll start here.
I have a Stevens 87C I am working on that my brother in law gave to my sons, which is missing the firing pin and the hammer/breech bolt/springs. Trying to sort out which hammer style I need as Numrich shows two different hammers one with a step on front and one without. This rifle has the band style extractor bolt with a taper at the lower rear edge.
Lots of general info out there on these guns but have spent several unsuccessful hours looking for this piece of information.
Can anyone help with which hammer I need so I can move forward to getting the parts to put this gun back together?
