I have this one made by Varner in the 80s.These were made for only a few years and are better quality
( modern steels etc) than the originals.

Not at home to be able to post pics, but the fact my first rifle was a favorite 1915 from my grandfather (along with a couple hours of safety and ethics) when I was 12 should tell you how much I love these.

Don't have a favorite, but I've got a Stevens Little Scout on the way. Not quite the same, but i've always wanted a falling/rolling block .22.

Shame we don't see more made like this these days. Really classy guns, and I can't imagine they'd be far too expensive to mass produce.

I've been trying to find a decent one, without spending an arm and a leg. I had a 1894 and a 1915 in 22LR.

But they had various issues.

Although the Steven Favorite was...well... a favorite for many...
Thinking we should also include pics of the Stevens Sure Shot, Crack Shot, Little Scout, Marksman, and Junior rifles.
Hack we could even include the Savage Model 30G Favorite Takedown
Introduced in 2004. Has a take-down feature. Offered in: .17 HMR with 21" full octagon barrel, sights and scope base included; .22 LR with 21" half octagon barrel and sights.

I had a 30G Favourite as shown above, but with octagon barrel in 22 magnum. I had fitted a No. 1 (?) Lyman tang site. Very, very dainty little thing, as I recall - I doubt that it weighed 4 pounds all in. The wood was nothing to write home about - as I recall, the butt stock and the fore arm were noticeably different stuff...

Yes the varner favourites were top of the line actually better quality than the originals. Also the savage favourites were not true copies of the favourites

Top down Stevens Marksman .25, Stevens Marksman 12 .25, Page Lewis Model A .22, Stevens Little Scout 14 1/4 .22

That 14 1/4 is a LOT like the Remington Model 6. Pretty basic gun, but not a lot of metal holding any modern ammo from sending the breech block back into your face!

Had a real run on Favorites and Favorite actions for a few years. The more I learned about them, the less I began to like, or trust them.

I hope the Varner units actually had the screws supported right up to the breech block and lever pivots. Those being left unsupported are a major part of the problem with the action and any cartridge with above black powder pressures.

The Savage version, looked like they held a contest among the hung over dudes after the Company party, to figure out ways to make it uglier than it needed to be. Every one I have ever seen has ranged between homely and downright nasty looking. Such a shame!

Same as my Husky M21 (Flobert action) I've only used .22 shorts in it so far. Seems okay.

Not sure I'd want to try .22LR in her.

The repo's were just that , same as any other .

As earlier written in this thread any ''Favorite '' lovers who want to share.
I have limited my capacity for vintage guns to just them. (call me narrow minded)

Actually , I am quite with you when it comes to Remington 6's & Stevens 14 1/2's
I've had them , fixed them , shot them , sold them.

I shoot all my Fav's .32 , .25 & .22 originals all they
are almost lover built for .22 rimfire .

Started back in the olden' days when my Dad brought
a .32 and a handful of shells home .
Shot off everyone short & long , that was it for quite a few years
till I found another box at a swap meet .
I still have that gun .
