I am looking at trading some items for a Springfield 5100 16 gage SXS with 28" barrels and plastic stocks that look like dark walnut.
It looks like a nice gun but I can't find any info on the plastic stocks.
I have a plastic forestock in my parts for a single shot but I don't know what gun it fits.
I haven't run across any info on shotguns with this type of stocks.
It's a great little gun and I looked up the 5100 but it states it should have a walnut set of furniture.
Are they fragile, and did they come out around the same time Remington came out with the Nylon 66?
Should I or can I get a set of walnut stocks for it and keep the plastic stocks for display?
Are they a collectors item, if so what are they worth as trade value?
What are your thoughts on 16 gage compared to 12 or 20 Gage?
Thanks your help would be greatly appreciated.
