OK, here's the deal; I'm new to this sport, not that I have'nt shot before, but I'm a rookie when it comes to knowing what to buy.
The very helpful man at my local gun shop recommended the stevens model 200 in .223 for my interest in long range (300yds) , go ahead and laugh, shooting. I have researched some and have'nt found much in the way of negative feedback......what do yall think?

i've just bought one myself can't wait to get to the range
it's not the best looking rifle I've ever seen but for the price.........
if I can get 3/4" at 100 yds I'll be a happy camper

I cant find a local price on that rifle, but how does the price compair to the savages? I know lots of people really like the faster twist in the savages. And the accutrigger isnt too bad either.

at le baron in montreal sells for 354.94
at dante in montreal it sells for 337.77 ( I got the last one)
S I R sells for 319.99
Russell sells for 329.00

hope that helps you out

Hmm damn, thats about half of a savage, lol.
I'm interested in knowing how these do too, I have a buddy on a budget that would be interested if it shoots good up to 150 meters or so.

from all the reading I've done on this forum the model 200 is way to accurate for the price. Like someone told me recently savage arms is underrated and needs to be examined closely, from what I've seen so far I almost regret having bought my Tikka T3 stainless.

Not because I don't like the rifle it's the other way around, but for my budget I could have had the same quality with a $200.00 rebate
