Just wondering, from those of you who bought this gun, how do they shoot?

what do you like/dislike about the gun?

The stock is utter crap. And the trigger could use some work. But you can NOT get a better rifle for the money. Savage has a reputation for out-of-the-box accuracy, and the stevens is no exception

Not good looking but a far cry from the 710 (don't want to say it too loud because people throw things at you when you mention it)

I too agree the 710 is an ugly POS

They shoot great, and quality is fine. Aesthetically they leave something to be desired, but I could care less what my rifles look like (and if you look at all of my rifles it is obvious i feel this way.

Only functional gripe I had with mine was the crappy trigger. It was clean and broke crisply, just too heavy.

FWIW, you can always get a Aftermarket Laminated stock from Boyd's for 75$ or so (us funds , unfinished stock)...

and the trigger can be worked on like any other rifle.

HAhaha! No kidding. I just got my Stevens 200 today (.223) so recoil isn't an issue. But what the hell are the pads made of? Soft sponge rubber? I hope they put something a little heavier on the 30-06 or 300!
Yeah, so fit and finish is pretty crap. Look is okay. A great gun to get all painted up camo and shoot varmints.
I hear they're accurate. I'll let you know...

Ya I have one here in 243 but then I got a Ruger 243 SSt. from Doug.Have not fired it yet & got a call from WS that my 200 in 223 is in. DAN>>>

they said mine was in also should be sent out in the pretty quick I got them to include rings and bases in the same order.

I got one in 30-06 and the recoil pad can be compared to a hockey puck.

Same pad on all the calibers and even though mine is only a 25-06 I replaced it with a Limbsaver, a pleasure to shoot!! FS

Have one in a .223. Good shooter! Good deal for the price. That's all i have to say.
