stevens,savage 111fcxp3 or edge?

hi everyone,
I'm new to shooting and want to buy a hunting rifle. I was thinking 308 cause that's what my dad shot when he hunted but i'm now considering 270. My question is out of the stevens, savage 111fcxp3 or edge what is the best bang for the buck. I've put in for deer and antelope. I need it to be fairly cheap since the wife doesn't want me spending much money until I'm sure I want to continue this for years.

ps why not through the marlin xs7 in the mix
 
Hi,

I have both the Marlin XS7 and Stevens 200 in the .308 caliber. Both are doing a good job, but the Marlin XS7 have a much better trigger out of the box.

im also contemplating getting the edge xp in either .223rem or .243win.... so im in same boat as OP

would be my first rifle. .223 interests me as it really cheap to shoot, but if i ever decided to hunt id be SOL.

.243 gets me ability to take deer.......thoughts?

I had both the 111 and the Stevens.

I found the Stevens needs min a trigger job and I didn't like the stock.
I did like the 111 (mine has an accu trigger) and I still use it. Has been very good to me.

My advice would be the 111.
 
If having a blind mag does not bother you I would take a close look at the XL7 or XS7 Nicely balanced rifle, adjustable trigger, recessed muzzle crown , a recoil pad that actually works well and very accurate.
