Hey guys, so I have a steven's model 325-A 30-30 bolt action that my father in law gave me. I figure its about a 1947 or 1948. It's in fantastic shape and shoots excellent. One small issue is that occasionally when working the bolt, it won't expel the spent casing (not a huge deal). Most times it seems to work as it should. There is no assembly/disassembly videos on youtube.

Does anyone know how to disassemble the bolt? I played around with it a bit but it doesn't want to tell me how it comes apart. Before I break anything I was hoping someone could help me as I found a website that sells replacement parts (extractor) and new magazines. I would post some photos but i don't know how on here but the rifle is listed on ####### for sale (feeler) for those that care to take a look.

Thanks!

Is the extractor a spring clip that wraps around a groove in the bolthead?
Is the ejector a spring loaded pivoting piece pinned in a slot at the rear of the receiver?

Go to w ww.gunpartscorp.com. Schematic and parts list.

any videos of the 340's i found the bolt is different then whats on mine so i dont know what else to tell you lol

Pictures are your friend - this is kind of like the guy who tries to describe the noise his car is making to the mechanic over the phone - if you can't post pictures you can email a couple to me and I will post them. Just pm for my email.

Savage bolt has a round knob and a counter weight on the back end. Strips the same way. Ease springs and unscrew. Note where the firing pin sits before unscrewing and set it back in the same depth.
