Hi Folks, I am wondering how rare these guns are and how collectible. I have had many Savage 24's but never a Stevens. How much should a fellow pay for a Stevens 22lr/.410 with a Tenite stock in very good condition? Apparently they are late 40's early 50's

I don't think a Stevens would be worth any more than a Savage. They both came out of the same factory at that time. I have an old Stevens 94 single shot shotgun in 16 gauge with a tenite stock, great atv gun, you don't worry about marring the stock. Yours is in pretty nice condition for it's age, don't think I'd use it for hunting personally.
In the U.S. there may be more Stevens collectors but I don't know if they are interested in Stevens guns built after Savage bought them out. Stevens was basically an economy grade Savage, didn't even serial number them. I see you've got the stupid serial sticky from the CFC, really adds to the looks of an old gun, doesn't it?

Re Stevens

Thanks Mike, I have had over a dozen of the Savages but never a Stevens. The early Savages did not have serial numbers either. I have one of them in 22wmr/410 with wood that has no number and that's how I left it. I thought that a Stevens would be more rare especially in Tenite. Oh well I really like it and I think it looks good and to be honest I don't remember seeing a Stevens for sale before.

No more valuable than a Savage,I've seen a few sell, if anything they were of slightly poorer quality. The Tenite stock doesn't really add value unless the gun is mint in my opinon. The Tenite atleast on one or two I looked at had a tendency to become fatigued, and when it breaks it really breaks. It may have something to do with solvents or just age.
