That sounds like a pretty nice rifle; much more so than the Steyr. Have you got any pictures?

I can't understand why Marlin and Hornady came up with the .450 Marlin rather than simply making rifles and factory ammo in .458x2".

I'll be busy & out of town the next few days........so when I'll be back next week, I will post pictures.

This could have been accomplished with the .458x2", which can be formed from practically any standard belted case. .450 Marlin uses a different belt from any other case.

The newer Steyr rifles pale in comparison to the old Mannlicher-Schoenauer.

Pretty much every production rifle does.
