Just wondering if a good reload of 270 gr TSX at 2580 fps out of my scout 376 would be consider good for AH even on cape buffalo... Cheers. JP.

It won't do em any good. The 270 gr TSX is a fine buffalo bullet, and you have plenty of velocity to ensure good terminal performance as well as flat trajectory for the plains game on your hunt. I think you can count on 30" of penetration, a large wound volume where it matters, and a trajectory similar to a .308/180.

Why wouldn't it be? I did well in Africa with 270 grain TSXs that didn't chronograph much over the numbers you gave. After I got onto 270 grain A-frames though, my TSX bullets were used up for plinking.:D

The A-Frame would be better than the TSX in dangerous and plains games, what i am looking now is for my back up rifle, already own a CZ 550 416 Rigby that would be my first rifle as a second, i have the choice between Scout Steyr 376, 300 mag and Steyr BB 450M, just try to figured out wich one i will take since my hunting trip will be in 2013, i want to practice a lot with the 2 i choose... JP.

No Dogleg say he prefer the A-Frame to the TSX, just wanted to know if it was for both dangerous and plains games... JP.

Both. The only time I would prefer the TSX is for shooting the tiniest of antelopes, they wouldn't get blown-up as bad with the copper bullets.

Thank, i will order some of those A-Frame and experiment with them, sometime my french background make it sound different that i would like to say, sorry for that... Cheers. JP.

I'll save you the time, they will all look like this when you're done, assumeing you find some critter big enough to stop them. The .375s on the right do the double upset.

Any off you gentlemans could indicate a sponsor who could supply me with A-Frame bullets both in 375 and 416... Cheers. JP.

My order of A-Frame bullets is ready to be given... 100 bullets of 270 gr---- 375 cal... 150 bullets of 400 gr--- 416 cal... and a 100 bullet of 350 gr--- 458 cal.... I will give my rifles some good food... Cheers. JP.
