Wolverine supplies has listed them for $795 and looks to me like a descent plastic gun supposedly manufactured in Austria (with new world order and global economy, it might be of completely weird origin like the Croatian designed and manufactured Springfield XDs). I am entertaining the idea to purchase one in .40S&W. Is there anyone out there who owns one or has some experience to provide valuable feedbacks, cons and pros. And please no referral to the selling dealer for feedback since I am looking for impartial consumer opinions.

Fine pistol, nothing to worry about in terms of quality - top notch.

The only negative is that parts (magazines, etc.) are not as easy to get as say Glock parts.

I have one in 9mm

Has very little felt recoil esp muzzle flip; due to low bore axis. Trigger is nice too - light with a very short reset.

Already got 4 extra mags and holster for it should be here next week :)
 
I handled and compared it side by side to several others, Glock 17, S&W M&P, and I liked the Steyr the best. Haven't had the chance to shoot one but will be getting one for my kids..... Well at least the plan is that it's for the kids but depends on how much I like it. ;) :D

I am also considering bringing a whole bunch of 10rd Factory mags in from the US, likely in the Fall.

I've directly compared the M-1A to the Glock 17, Beretta 92FS & Browning HiPower.

Once you get the hang of those sites on it your set. Very comfortable grip, fits my hand perfectly. Double taps & 5 round burst are had easily with minimal barrel jump. This gun just doesnt want to go out of control.

I should add all these handguns are 9x19mm.

The Steyr M-1A is a handgun I would def buy, it did not have ANY hang up's and the magazine springs are nowhere near as stiff as Beretta & Glock magazine's, making reloading a hell of a lot quicker by hand. Trigger pull & reset was just.......perfect.


Highly suggest this handgun to shooters of all experience levels.

To those that dont like it, keep your yap shut until you fire it for an entire afternoon.
