I'm looking at the Steyr M95 rifles Tradeex has for sale, would love to get one but If I got it I wanna shoot it and I don't think they come with any clips that are needed to load it. Correct me if I'm wrong. Would anyone here know where a few of these clips might be found, even one would be ok, so long as I can shoot the rifle I'd be happy. Thanks.

The original ammunition can still be found if you frequent the Gun Shows. It is Berdan primed and generally corrosive, so you really have to clean your rifle if you fire off the stuff.

The good news, is it is packed in clips, so that you usually get three clips per box. Trade-Ex also has PRVI reloadable brass for this rifle, so it can be reloaded the same as most other calibres.

The bullet is about .329-.330 so it is larger than the .323 diameter of the usual 8mm rifles. The good news is that LEE makes a standard production cast bullet mould for this diameter bullet.

I'll be hitting up any gun shows I can this year but I work on ship 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off so I'm not always available. I'm gonna get a reloading kit this year maybe put it on layaway and pay it off. Get dies for some of the other calibers I'm using regularly. I probable won't be firing this rifle as often as my M14 or my SKS, but I would like to be able to fire it a few times a year. The Halifax outdoor and RV show is coming up in a few months maybe I'll luck out there. Fingers crossed.

The last few gun shows in the Maritimes have always had German 8x56r and the clips for sale. Not the cheapest ammo by any means but if you're going to reload and/or not shoot it a ton, no problem.

P&S Militaria also has some available for mail order I believe. One of the distributors will be bringing commercial Prvi 8x56r in next year as well.

Thanks for the info Doczoid, I'll be ordering one of these very soon. My first WW1 rifle, hoping to start reloading in the near future so gonna pick up some brass and lead for it. Would love to find some original surplus ammo for it fire a couple rounds and keep a clipful for display.

Got the bug to order one of these rifles very soon, Tradeex has the carbine on for 225 and P and S has the infantry long rifle on for 300. I can't decide which way to go with these, and does anyone know if the hungarian ammo p and s is selling comes with the clips or not?? Thanks.

Usually, surplus ammos should come in clips but to be sure, ask before ordering.
