Steyr Owners Row Call!

I have one for sale due to wife is not using it. Mine is exactly copy and it has Trijicon NS sights, I like they way it sit in the hand, same size as glock 19 I'd say. Good shooter. If we could shoot here with 2 hands :) I won't sell it.

I decided to raid my photobucket account for some Steyr photos for this thread (mostly guns I either own or have owned in the past, but not all). I am also currently looking for a Steyr GB if anyone has any leads.

Nice collection Ghostie! That GB looks very cool. What do those go for these days?

They are pretty hard to find. I had that one (in the box) a few years ago and stupidly sold it. Now I am trying to find another one, and I may have to end up importing one from the States, as the people that have them here in Canada hold on to them forever and never let them go. Kind of like the way non-RC K98K's are! And now HK P7s are becoming the same way, since they went out of production. That seems to be the pivotal factor.

If something is legal and it is in the country, I think eventually you can find it. I had a chance to buy a restricted HK P9S about 5 years ago, passed that up, and thought I would never get another chance. Last year I bought one. I wanted a restricted SIG P230. Found one (and relatively cheap). Restricted German Luger, found it; non-police surplus HK P7 PSP, found it; P7M8; P7M13; SIG 228; Steyr SSG 69, etc., etc... most of the stuff I have lusted after... if it is legal eventually it can be found.

Then there is the stuff that everyone wants...MP5/HK94, HK43/93, Steyr AUG, etc. ... and will never be able to have short of a complete political revolution in this country. Ah well... maybe I will be able to retire to Arizona one day... before the U.S. completely ruins their guns laws as well.

@Ghostie

Our current firearms laws definitely need reform. For example with prohibs, they don't issue prohibs licenses any more so eventually those guys with prohibs will eventually have to have those guns destroyed. AFAIK, you cant even pass them down to your kin. Sad.

The only hope is to try and sell them state side before you kick the bucket.

i own one

I have the m40 a-1 and absolutely love it, to me it is a current age glock on steroids, it points and shoots better than any of my 7 or 8 glocks that i have owned and its slightly smaller and shorter than a glock 22 or 19. These guns are over built and of exceptional quality, i have two or three buddies getting them as we speak, and they arent a grand like the compact glock 19/22's are. The only thing i did with mine is change the crappy trapazoidal sights to a set of three dot night sites, i also bought two extra mags, a holster and a steel full length guide rod, you can also get a shoulder stock and / or a grip plug for them as well.there are a lot of glock fans out there, i was one i know, take a m9 or m40 apart, look at each component beside each other, there is no comparison in quality, fit and finish, plus the grip is awesome!!!

Better get one before someone figures this out and they double in price

BTW there was a u tube video of a guy running it over witgh his half tom, picking it up and firing it.......totally cool

Ive got an M9A1 and love it, best gun in hand feel ever. I put a 1911 plunger spring in with my extractor spring to fix the FTE's and havent had a problem since. Ive also got the newer 2010 style extractor and spring as backups.
You might also want to check your magazine springs if your having FTF's as they shipped some with the wrong springs.

I am having less FTEs now after a few hundred more rounds. But where can I get this 1911 spring you refer to? Is it just called a 1911 plunger spring?

Can you explain how the mag spring would affect ejection ? Too strong? Too weak?
