At this point we aren't getting any Steyr pistols coming into Canada at all. The ones you see for sale "new" are all "new old stock" from 2004-2007 or so.
All the Steyr M, S, and C pistols require some kind of threaded or extended barrel to be imported into Canada. The M's have 102mm barrel in the U.S. (4 inch) and the S's and C's have 92mm barrels (3.6 inch). The batch of M9A1's and M40A1's that came in during that 2004-2007 time period all had "special run" 106mm barrels.
Steyr pistols actually left the U.S. market in 2008, and then returned in 2010 with a redesigned trigger and extractor. To my knowledge, not a single one of the 2010 or new date coded pistols have come in to Canada.
I am a big Steyr fan (I have three Steyr rifles now, and I have owned other stuff in the past) but demand seems to be very low in Canada, and supply is even worse. Hopefully we will see more of their products coming to Canada, but right now it is a trickle.
By the way, a threaded barrel S or C pistol should be no problem on barrel length. The FRT number is no big deal. It is probably in the Table already, and if it isn't they'll give it one.
