Seems like the used ones tend to sell for $1,800. I have seen a number of them sell at that price here on Gunnutz, some black, some green, some single trigger, some double, some with iron sights and some without. That seems to be the most common price. I myself have bought two used ones, both green, single trigger, models with iron sights at that price in recent years. One made in 1989, one in 1981.
My own view is that $1,800 is probably a bit high for some of those rifles, but that is what people ask, and they get it.
I bought a brand new 2004 made, straight from the factory, green SSG 69 rifle package with Kahles 6x42 ZFM, rings, two mags, sling, case, manual, test target, etc. for $3,000. That is one of my favorite firearms. One of the best buys I've made.
