Steyr stamped krag

Anyone familiar with krags. I have a lovely lil sporter stamped steyr 1896. 4409 with a crown. Apparently chambered in 6.5x54ms. However i read all 20 000 that steyr made were chambered in 6.5x55 swede. Fired cases come out as 6.5x54ms. Id love to learn more about the krag rifle if someone has knowledge they care to share

Steyr made them on contract for Norway to supplement domestic production. When first imported, many Norwegian Krags were cut down and had their chambers reamed for 6.5x54MS much like the Carcanos that Cooey did for Eatons.

So the barrels would have had to been set back as the swede is bigger than the 54ms case eh
This one is nicely sporterized. Action cycles like silk. Its growing on me but i dont have a use for it

Any idea of approx value of a sportered krag in good condition? Im assuming its lost all collector value

+/- 300$. The (now) odd chambering doesnt help...

Ok thats what i was thinking. Just wanted to verify. I figures same ballpark as a sportered enfield
