GT - interesting....lock up achieved at the front of the rail? looks like "locks" that interface with the GB...unless there is something in the traditional barrel nut location. Anymore pics available? specifically, barrel extension, GB and right side....also front and top would be good.

ETA - looks pistonish....is it attached to the BCG ala AK?

Boltgun

Don't know any more details, but it looks like they just put the AUG QD barrel system on an AR and moved the push rod from the side to the 12 o'clock. Not sure I like the location of the locking mechanism on the handguard.

Ya, the side lock was the first thing that made me go ??? when I saw it as well. Might be OK though....

Four position gas piston system. Over, under, normal and lockout.

Making select fire models for LE/MIL sales...

Why do companys keep making these stupid Quick change barrels

nothing like having to re-zero you optic's and laser's every time you want to swap barrels

looks to me like the pins in the lower are possibly in a proprietary positiion....as in the upper won't work on a standard AR lower.

It looks goofy, and it probably shoots just as goofy...

How do you know?

Based on what?

I seriously doubt STEYR MANNLICHER.( a world renown company) would make a gun as well known to the world in an AR configuration and have it shoot goofy..........

WANT :D

If any company knows how to make d*** good barrels, it's Steyr. The quick change barrel is probably more of a novelty, BUT for the way it locks up I'll bet you'll retain 1/2MOA, the AUG has had this feature for a couple decades so I think they know how to do it right.

ETA

I'd LOVE to have a true Steyr AUG, but unfortunately they're all Prohib so I'd have the same chance of getting one as a date with Kate Beckinsale.... sooo yeah.
