Many of you that know me, know that I've had a WTB for a Steyr Zephyr for quite some time now. I recently bid on one out of the U.S. and had been in contact with Clay from Prophet River to potentially import it. Am I too cheap, or is it not meant to be...?
I bid with a sum that I was comfortable with and this is the result-

Unfortunately with guns that are hard to find sometimes it s a battle between common sense and the need to own it at all costs.A few times my need to own outweighed my common sense but that being said I never regretted it when it did.

It all comes down to want vs need, and how bad you want. I know you have been searching long and hard, so why don't you just toss economics to the wind, and treat yourself?

Yup, common sense...damn it.
I thought it was pricey before I put in my max bid, but obviously it's worth more to the owner.
And you know I can't toss economics that far Bill, my Indian name is "Throws-like-a-girl."

X2. Go for it,;) you 'need' it. Faced with a somewhat similar decision a short while ago, I finally was able to pick up a long sot after Schultz & Larsen in 358 Norma Magnum. I 'needed' it and now that I have it:D:D, no regrets on the decision to purchase. Earlier on, to 'tide me over', I had purchased and still have a Husqvarna in that calibre but finally getting the Schultz 'made my day'. Wishing you the best:).

I don't know if I would pay nearly $3K for one, but it depends what you want. A Unique T-Dioptra was my "must have" rimfire, and it took me 30 years to find one, a beautiful example of which magically appeared on the EE one day. If the Steyr Zephyr is so desirable as to command that kind of money, well you know the math. It just depends how badly you want it.

Price out Hollywood's...Ralph Martini examples of custom rifles and kerch$ngs attached, then decide.
Gorgeous always seems to have a sticker shock to it.
Then again, my buddy works at a dealership and he informed me their shop rate is now
$130 an hour.
Plus a worker order charge.......$50, I believe.
So a meekanick goes for a chit and takes a magazine with him.......owwwie.......

But but butt, will this purchase settle the desire, or will there be won more???????? Laugh2

If I were to spend big money on a 22 it would be this one
