While lurking the forums I came across a thread (which I've now lost) concerning a company bringing replica STG44s into Canada, semi-automatic, I forget what they were chambered for.

Did anything ever come of that? Is there a retailer that distributes them?

The 7.92x33 PP-39 cartridge used in the StG-44 has exactly the same ballistic performance at the muzle as the 7.62x39 M-43, so you know it's not any anti-tank round.

Trade-Ex has Boxer-primed brass and bullets in stock, as well as dies.

You run into this stuff at gun shows, too, generally in big bulk boxes.

On the other hand, if you really ENJOY turning the crank on a table-top case-trimmer, you can chop it down from .30-'06, 8x57, 7x57, .270 Win, .280 Rem, .308W/7.62 NATO, .300 Savage, .250-3000 or something like that. Buying proper 33mm brass is MUCH easier on the arms..... and on the sanity.

That's surprising for an calibre chambered only in prohib rifles that you can't take to the range and shoot! That is up until recently. Is there anything else chambered in 7.92x33 besides the Stg44?

It's a Serbian ammo company, something tells me that they may make ammo for markets other than Canada. Heck maybe they can ship some to Syria where those 5000 NIB STG-44s just showed up.

False...SSD has two Restricted rifles (copies of the Mkb42(H) and the MP44) that take 7.92 Kurz ammo. Before I had to buy brass and bullets from TradeEx; but with this Serbian stuff (factory made ammo in WWII) I can buy it off the shelf.

I don't know if there are any in Canada, but there were a few K98's made in the 7.92 Kurz chambering and those would be non-restricted.

Yeah ok but one is a copy, and the Schmeisser assault rifle is pretty rare and also a prohib....

A K98k in 7.92 Kurz I've heard of but haven't seen. That would be a fun rifle to shoot without the shoulder pounding of the 7.92x57
