STI Handguards.

I'm looking at the STI handguards on your site, planning a build.

I'm more specifically interested in the plain non quadrail versions.

The lengths as to what gas system they accommodate is neither listed on your site, not the STI website.

My best guess is one is Mid and the other is Rifle, OR, one is Rifle, and the other is extended rifle using a Low-Pro gas block.

I'm looking to build an "enhanced" a2, using the standard carry handle/gas block irons, and knowing the gas length would helpful.

I've decided to ask this question on the forum so that, if answered, it is here for future reference.

Hello.

Sorry for the delayed response, we were waiting to get some longer handguards in to measure them.

The shorter handguards are 9" and the longer handguards are 12"

How much do they weigh? And, are there too rails available? Looks like there are threaded holes for a top rail...

Short:

Standard - .31KG
Quad Rail - .35Kg

Long:

Standard:.4KG
Quad Rail:.45kg

(Includes lock nut and barrel nut)

The lower holes match up to the JP Rail kit - #JPTR-L 4.
I'm waiting to hear back from STI as to what rails match the top holes.
