STI in .45: grip size

After having a really horrible malfunction caused by my 10-round single-stack mag shearing off its stop and pushing too far into the gun, I am looking to the future (far future unfortunately since I'm too poor to do anything about it now). I'm a huge fan of .45ACP, but single-stack is just not very practical due to the size and shape of the mag and the potential for that kind of malfunction.

I see on the STI site that they offer the Edge and the TruSight in a double-stack .45 configuration. Can anyone confirm whether or not the grip dimensions are the same as for the .40 calibre models? I think from what I see on the site that they are and the mag just holds fewer rounds, but I'd like to know for certain. Thanks!

Well, the Para 14-45 and 16-40 and 18-9 all have the same grip size. I would assume that STI would do the same. Would cut down on mfg cost, I would think...

PM or email Freedom Ventures (site sponsor). They would know 100% for sure!

To confirm above,

45 ACP Edges have same grip size as the 40s and there are some things you can do make the reach smaller, like getting a short trigger, shaving the grips and undercutting the trigger guard.

That's great, thanks! It's not that I have small hands, but I know that double-stacking the .45 can make for a much enlarged grip with other makes, so I wanted to make sure I wouldn't pay a penalty that way vs .40 with the STI.

Good news!
