1.What is the factory-set trigger weight for STI TROJAN? For TARGETMASTER?
2. Are those guns come in SA or DA/SA?
Thanks.

Dear STI owners:ire
what's your opinion about using Trojan in center-fire eye-bull shooting?
What barrel you prefer: 5 or 6 ?
Is it hard to get extra aftermarket mags in Toronto area?

I would get the 5" as you can use it for other disciplines...the 6" would be too long for some. The Trojan os very accurate, i bet more so than you are. Mags are easy to get, depends on what make you want. Stick to Wilson Combat or Mc Cormick, dont cheap out....

I have the 5" in 40SW work very well, I'm using Tripp Research Cobra mag's in 10 Rds capacity....work well not too expensive, did a few IPSC match with before....I got the mag's direct from Tripp...

As for the accuracy as previously mention...more precise then most shooter.....like most pistols ;)

I bet those STI pistols are slick. Everyone who has 'em seems to love 'em. But to tell you the truth, I just can't abide that name "Trojan" in big bold letters on the side of the slide. Reminds me of a condom ad...

Some people are just out of luck stopping at a stamp name.....I don't care about any names......just give me STI that run well.... ;)

or better yet buy the Executive

Personally I wouldn't care what it says on it , it's a freakin STI .
I haven't seen one I don't like yet , and of the few I've handled ( 3 ) they fit like a glove .
It could say "piece of sh*t" on it and I'd still want one .

In the factory, STI Single Stack guns (Trojan / Targetmaster) are targeted at 4.5 pounds, Double stack are targeted at 3.5 (Edge, Executive, Trubore)

More often than not, the single stacks are around 4, though.

Due to liability, the factory won't go lower than 3.5.

All parts in the trigger / hammer assembly are EDM'ed and high end, so a good pistolsmith can do a lightening job on those parts without replacing them.

As the guys have already stated, everything from STI is a single action.

I always thought the Trojan rollmarks were pretty ugly.
Then I bought one in .40.
After handling and shooting this gun, there is absolutely nothing I
don,t love about it.
This gun is excellent in build quality and accuracy.
LOOK BEYOND THE ROLLMARK !

I like my rollmarks to say things like "Colt Series 70 Gold Cup National Match" and such...:p

Help on maintenance -my 1st 1911

I just picked up my Trojan yesterday, What a beaut. :dancingbanana:
With not much time I had a heck of time figuring out how to disassemble the guide rod once the slide was removed using their manual. The diagrams were not that helpful and I did not know what the odd looking tool was for:redface: .
Can some one please describe the best way to remove the Guide rod and barrel, and any other recommendations for when doing Firing pin and extracter removel as part of maintenance etc

Note on mags. I got a 2nd one (Mec-Gar) and found that the slide does not always remain open on last round. The stock one works perfect.

 Thanks
I love how this pistol fits in my small hands, was a pleasure to shoot, now if I could only shoot better,,,Darn and I thought it was the guns fault.
