Just wondering if anyone has a gun in this caliber that is shooting it and has a comment on it. Pros and cons. Thanks.

Mine is 9mm Major, not that good for me lot's of jam....I'm now Shooting a Bedell shorty in 38 Super Comp.....

I know one guy that has one in 38 Super (Not Mobile 1) and said what I thought...hard on the should and elbow when shooting Major PF, I shoot 22K or so last year.....I now uses it with factory 9mm for steel and now it's nice to shoot.

There was nobody on my squad with a red beret :p :p :D  not sure who you are...but I'm going again this year.....:D

Watching you at the last few matches, it doesn't look like changing guns has solved your jam problem.;) :)

None the less the stinger was a lot worst! and yes I was warn about it by your dad.

Actually my only match with lots of problems with these new guns was this pass match.....

And it must be because of the success of the STInger that STI will most likely stop fabricating these.....last news letter.....

There is more than one thing that will stop a gun...mags and ammo are generally the worst culprits...

I'm not a huge fan of the short open guns (any short open gun)...but my Buddy Eber has a Stinger...and I don;t think I've ever seen it jam...he really likes the gun...

Just my .02

I was on the phone with STI yesterday. They are considering taking the Stinger off the market as sale's have not been that good. Altho they say a lot of them have been sold in Canada through some fellow down east. He know's who he is.

Not enough info here to go one way or the other so I guess I'll just have to go along with plan B instead. Unless anyone actually has a pro or con they want to post about the gun (Stinger) itself. You can pm me instead if you like.

I'd suggest bringing it up a level...short gun vs full lenght gun...

There's plenty of info avialble on the web (I'd check out the Brian Enos Forums http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php? )

If you think a short gun is for you...the STinger is a good choice...

You also have to consider Custom made vs out of the box...

With a custom gun you get exactly what you want...but it takes longer and is generally more expensive...

An out of the box gun is going to arrive faster and generally for less money...but may not be exactly what you want...

My personal advise...long or short...if you're very familiar with the guns...and you know exactly what you want...look at a custom gun....

If you're just getting into this...get an out of the box gun...shoot it for a year...then send it off to a competent gun smith to have it tuned to your specs...

Cheers

Sence nobody has realy ansered your Question ( myself included ) this is my opinion only. This stinger is a great gun if shoot in minor. Mine is in 9mm if you use Winchester white box the gun runs like a dream, has never jamed or or had stopages wile shooting factory ammo. Once agian this is my opinoin the stinger is a great gun for steel matches. It moves from target to target quickly follow up shots are quick. If used in IPSC the Stinger would be best shot in minor, this would actualy help alot of shoters that are going in to open to be better open shoters. It would teach you how better to shoot all A's , practise would be alot cheaper and you could get alot more of it for your money shooting factory over custom made ammo. Those are some of the pro's

The con's: If shot in major in IPSC the gun tends to get a little vilent , harder on the elbows ( you would need to shoot a lot of ammo to feel this maybe about 300 rounds in a day ). As for jamming 90% of the time it is eather bad ammo , mags or people messing with there guns ( guilty ) that shoud not be messing with there guns. Another con is you must load your own ammo realy hot to make major in a stinger.

This just my 2c

Yes, the STInger will kick into the arms harder than a regular race gun. I recommend it, as a rule to younger competitors. A 62 year old man will feel it the next day much more than a 30 year old.

Bull. I've seen you with jams at every match since you got it. That includes when you dropped it in Yarmouth and AD'ed with it in Kentville and Yarmouth.

Ah, the fights on. Wrong. Sales of the STInger are lower than the Trubore. Sales at STI are ridiculous. They are dropping guns (not just the STInger, the 10/22 and some 6" guns too) that are not as popular to try to catch up on guns that are popular. Are you now going to tell me you know more about what goes on in Texas than I do?

It has been obvious all along what the problem with your STInger was. You. You messed with it and messed with it and can not leave it be. Leave the gunsmithing to someone who knows what they are doing.

There are plenty of my customers with 9mm Major working fine and plenty with STIngers who have no issues at all. The fact that your new Beddells are jamming only confirm on the point.

I've bit my tongue for a while, but if you're going to come on this forum and crap on my products with your vast depth of experience, (got your black badge in 2004) I'm going to defend myself.

Obviously you have a problem......Yes I'm new....and trying to learn many thing's at the same time and Yes I have made many mistakes but I'm sure that you don't.

There will be no fight.....I'm just learn something else!

Ok you guys, enough. I have received an answer from someone who knows what I wanted to know. Nothing more to discuss here.
