Sticky choke tube

I learned something yesterday.

I was getting my 870 Express ready to go and tried to move the choke tube and it was extremely stiff, so I pulled it and while the threads were still well greased, the non threaded part of the stainless Carlson modified tube was sticking to rust that had developed on the inside of the non threaded part of the barrel. So I cleaned and oiled the barrel, and regreased the tube threads.

I'm quite religious about cleaning the actions of my shotguns after use, particularly after a wet day, but don't always check the tubes. I will now. I have a Browning Gold too that I'm going to check before I take it out next.
