I thought that it could be a good idea for newer members of CGN or those new to the Black Rifle community to make it a Sticky of not just what is involved in having a Restricted rifle converted to the NR status (barrel change, verification and re-classification), but more importantly which rifles can be converted, with the clear understanding that any rifles classified has AR-variants are a no-go.

I would suggest that this sticky also list the CGN contributing Gunsmiths who completed the conversion and verification process.

Gunsmiths:
Herron Arms

Restricted Rifles eligible for conversion to the NR status:
- Swiss Arms CQBs and Carbines
- ACRs
- FN PS90 and FS2000s

Restricted Pistol Carbines:
- Beretta CX4 Storm (9mm and 40S&W)
- H&K USC .45 acp

Not a black rifle but a popular one though and very easy to get verified as a call to RCMP Tech was all it took to verify and then all I had to do was wait for the new NR reg certificate to show up in the mail. (actually the first Tech tried telling me it was illegal to go from restricted to nonrestricted! Asking for a supervisor cured that problem quick)I don't know if the procedure is different now except for the fact that the NR registry is no more. Someone with more recent experience doing one since the NR reg is gone can chime in hopefully. I found it very easy to change the classification though and hope it is still so.

Add to your list every gun that isn't prohibited by name, a handgun, or an AR15.

There, I just saved you from reading a bunch of individual replies listing every little gun.

Hence the reference in the title to Rifles and the note about AR-variants in the OP ;)

As for handguns. Well. You know.

But I hear what you're saying.

Tks for the input!
