I am looking at starting my first build with a custom action and I am a little unsure as to which action I "need". I would like to build a rifle which will allow me to compete in F Class competition, but also one that I can take out varmint hunting. Having done a limited amount of research, I am looking at the Stiller actions, specifically the Predator and the TAC30. I have read though, that the TAC30 may not be suitable for hunting due to the fact of the tolerances being too tight and the chance of water/dust etc causing the action to bind.
Having considered the fact that I may indeed want to have this rifle out in conditions which may not be perfect (not throwing the rifle in a mud hole, but being out in drizzle dust etc), I am hesitant to go with the TAC30, BUT, I am wondering if the Predator is "high end enough" to be used in a competition rifle?
I am hoping that a few shooters with experience with Stiller actions might be willing to offer up some advice here, and perhaps see some suggestions from shooters who have or have had the same type of dual purpose rifle.
Thanks!
