I have seen a few pictures of the handguards on a M4 stimpled and am wondering if anyone does this in Canada? Seems a company in the states was doing it but don't exist anymore....Tango arms???
I may try it myself, but would prefer someone who knows what they are doing.
Anybody in the know?

Interesting, yeah love to see pictures of it. I find them very slippery and definitely want to mod it but keep them oem....I don't really like the aftermarket stuff.

That type of stippling is easily accomplished with a small tipped soldering iron. Takes patience and consistency.

This is the sandpaper like skateboard tape:

That's not bad. I think I will try that out. Thanks Sniffer. Maybe in the future I will pick up a second handguard and try myself but this looks like it will work.

a $18 soldering iron off amazon and 2-3 hours of your time is all it takes, no need to send it away.

its not complicated, don't be intimidated, if you are capable of handling a gun or driving a car you are already overqualified to stipple your handguards.

if you have an old a2 pistol grip or a polymer stock laying around that you don't use just practise on that to get a feel for how much pressure to use or which heat setting works best, which tip size to use, etc.

If there was a way to hold the soldering iron like a pencil, it would be much easier. You need a steady hand and confidence holding it by the handle.

the one i linked above can be held like a pencil, although the rear is bulky. just go slow. it helps to outline your design with the iron first then fill in. take your time on the outline and you can relax a bit while filling in the large open spaces inside the lines.

Blackbox would likely be the best bet.

If you're not confident you can stipple yourself, Blackboxcustoms for the win. I had my handguard and grip done by them. Not M4 but their work is really great.
