Any tips on removing blood from a wood stock? I am having a bear of a time getting the blood off. I rather not damage the finish. For the record it's my blood so nobody freak out.

I have heard that you can use Hydrogen peroxide, I have not done so myself so proceed with that in mind

Have done it a few time using light oil on a rag. As soon as the stain is removed, wipe clean with with paper towel, allow to dry, and then polish up with a clean dry rag. Success!

So what kind of finish is on the wood to start with? With a good finish it should wipe away with a damp rag... that's kind of the purpose of a wood finish... to seal and protect the wood...

What ever timberwolf puts on their stocks. Unfortunately it dried on it in some groves. I have been using mineral oil and q tips, probably best to just keep at it

I use Spray Nine. I’ve used it on different finishes and it hasn’t harmed any yet. I have some plastic brisel brushes I use to get dirt out of checkering. I don’t let it soak.Spray on and wipe off.

I'm also tending towards various non-corrosive (eg. probably Goo Gone) and citrus cleaners/solvents be it Spray Nine, bicycle and/or ski wax cleaners.

My game bags came home with dried blood stains. I asked my wife what would work best to clean them up before putting into the washer. Without hesitating she said Murphy oil soap. Wow! When I added MOS to the bucket of water & bags, the water turned red immediately. The stuff is meant for cleaning wood furniture so that would be my recommendation.
