Here Goes.
I have a norinco m14 . I changed the chew wood stock for a Boyd's stock ( and bedded it) with ease. Now the problem I have is that I bought a recoil pad (aim) so that I can remove some weight ,like the cleaning stuff and metal stock end and also add some lenght . The screw that connects the the strap eyelet is too short . Where can I get a longer screw ,this one is 3.25 and I need 3.5 min long. What kind of screw is ths anyway? I know it's a fine tread .What kind and where to buy a thin screw like this . If I get a screw I can just retap the eyelet. Where can I get a thin screw that lenght in Canada or US.
Thanks

Nothing stopping you from retapping the rear sling swivel and replacing the factory (fine pitch / threaded) buttplate screw. If you need a spare chinese rear sling swivel, I've got one (to play around with and not fear screwing it up) ;) Been there, done that! :D

Necessity is the mother of invention. I live out in the boonies with no where to buy any screws and had the same problem, so here is what I did.

I took a shorter screw with the same pitch as the sling swivel and with a long bladed screw driver screwed the sling swivel on. I then took a piece of doweling of the proper length and tapped it into the hole. You can then mount the butt pad using a wood screw of suitable length. Worked like a charm. :D
