Stock for Mauser Sporter

Hello
I have a 1921 mauser hunting rifle, I just got it for really cheap. The metal components are in great shape, the stock though has been modified in a gross way. Is there a stock available somewhere that would fit with some minor sanding, or would that be a expensive custom made stock?

They're outstanding ultralight stocks but not what you need. Check out Brownells and get a Wood Plus Mauser 98 prefit stock. I put one on a 98 several years ago and it only required minor fitting (cut the bolt notch, fit around the ejection port etc). Under $100 (you will have to choose and install a recoil pad) but good quality and plenty durable (mine is on a 9.3x62). All in all it was an easy, fun project.
