I tested the trigger weights on a somewhat crude trigger pull test station last night and this is what I found:
• Beretta 92S @5.5 LBS
• Norinco High Capacity 1911 @5.5-6 LBS
• S&W 686 @3.5LBS
• Norinco TT-33 @5.5-6 LBS
• Glock 26 @8 LBS

The reason I did this is I wanted to see what the Glock was doing, before a few parts were replace and a trigger job was done. I was surprised to see 8 LBS; I was expecting 5.5.

Maybe I have + marked (8LBS) trigger connector installed from the factory for Canadian shipments? I will take a closer look when i get everything appart.

If you have measured Glock trigger pull forces, what did you find?

Thanks.

UPDATE1: With a "Competition Trigger Spring" and a 3.5 LBS LWD Connector I now measure 5.5 LBS.

UPDATE2: With a 4lb. Firing Pin Spring, "Competition Trigger Spring," and a 3.5 LBS LWD Connector I now measure 4.5 LBS.

UPDATE3: For the Beretta the Wolff Competition Triger Conversion dropped 0.5LBS. It's now at 5.0 LBS.

UPDATE4: For the Beretta the Wolff 13 LB Hammer Spring dropped 0.5LBS. It's now at 4.5 LBS.

I find this interesting. I've been shooting my glock, which was a LE turn in, for about a year.

I fired a friend's who just bought his new and thought the trigger pull felt way lighter.

Are you saying because mine was a LE turn in, it has the poundage cranked up? If so, is there a way to reduce?

Item: LWD-342 -- LWD Connector - 3.5lb.
Quantity: 1
Amount: $14.95

Item: RPFPS -- 4lb. Firing Pin Spring (Not for Duty or Carry)
Quantity: 1

Item: GMTSK1 -- Competition Trigger Spring

...I'm not sure if I am going to use the NY1 Trigger Spring.

My first Glock had a heavy trigger pull right from the get go. At least 8lbs. That's with the stock springs etc. I purchased the competition spring kit from brownells + 3.5# connector and once everything was installed the trigger weight went down to 3lbs or so. It felt very nice. Of course this was strictly for IPSC. After shooting it for a bit I found it was starting to get light primer strikes. So I reinstalled the original striker spring and now it's perfect again. Still has a ~3lb trigger though.

The reason why Glock says it has a 5.5 lbs. trigger is because they measure from the very bottom of the trigger. If you take the gauge reading from the middle of the trigger (which is what us normal people do obviously) it comes out at around 7-8 lbs. So while they aren't exactly lying, they're not telling the truth really either.

i think there is a competition part for the glock trigger,...not sure if it is production (IPSC)legal,..but some people have used it.

Hey South, make sure you bring the stock Firing Pin Spring with you when you go to the range. I found the light Firing Pin Spring was just a hair too light to reliably touch off the primers. It wasn't a major problem but every 50 or 60 I'd get a light strike. No big deal if you're punching targets at the range, but if you're at a competition or CCW then it does become a concern. Anyway, keep an eye on it and let us know how it works out in your gun.

Is it possible to see a few pics of the parts you changed? Anyone else got pics?
