Stock options for Schultz & Larsen target rifles

I bought a 6.5x55 Schultz & Larsen rifle from tradex a little while ago and it has been an absolute tack driver. It's my long range hunting/paper punching rifle and I was thinking about getting into PRS in the future.

My concern is the stock flexes and touches the barrel if it's rested too far in front of the magazine so I'd like to replace it. Is there a manufacturer that makes a chassis system for a Mauser action or am I looking at a Boyds or McMillan? What would you suggest?

If the only thing you reply with is buy a new rifle you're not being terribly helpful. I can run with a long heavy rifle just fine.

Boyds will work, and most stock makers will make something for a 98 Mauser. - dan

I have a CG63 in 6.5x55 that I also bought from Tradex that had been sporterised by the previous owner. This was limited to shortening the barrel a couple of inches and drilling for scope mounts.
I will be installing a bipod mount and wanted to limit the flex on the fore end for the same reason you do. I was thinking of removing wood stock material from the barrel channel and then adding carbon fiber in it's place. I've worked with carbon fiber on the cockpit coaming of a cedar strip kayak I built and was impressed with the rigidity. In the shape of a "U" in side the it should keep the fore end from flexing.
I like the look and feel of the wood stock, but adding the carbon fiber wouldn't be obvious, as is the glass bedding

We manufacture or manufactured our E-Tac4 carbon fibre stock for the S&L Tactical as well as the Victory action. Somehow S&L did not promote this. They might still have some in stock. We can't manufacture these for others.
