Looking into a DIY Camo job for a stock, but have a few questions.
For those that have taken the plunge painting either a B&C or HS stock, what paints and clear coat have you used and their durability/longevity have you experienced?
I used a Rustoleum textured paint on both my Wildcat stocks along with a clear coat I can't remember and both have lasted for several years with no touchups needed. I don't use my rifles for canoe paddles or hammers but under normal use they have held up well.
I have used standard Rustoleum paint as well in "Camo" shades and never had issues. The last one I did, I used a marbelizing spray paint to get that "McMillan" stock look and sealed it with MinWax satin polyurethane. Holding up great.
