Just bought a Savage 112, heavy barrel, no accu-trigger(unfortunatly), in 300 win. mag. as a Tactical/Long range Target project. It came with a Choate Ultimate Sniper stock which to me is just to fisher pricey looking, so I'd like to upgrade. Now I have come upon a McMillan stock for a Sav. 116, does anyone know if my 112 action will fit?

Also would like to know the best way to bring stocks over the border, should I have it shipped or pick it up myself and bring it over, will the customs officers give me a hard time?

Any input would be greatly appreciated,

Jake

112 into a 116 inletted stock - I doubt the bolt pattern is the same so I would have to guess that they would not be interchangeable.

Why go through the hassle of getting permits etc. to get a stock over the border when we have people who make and sell them here in Canada for very close to what it would cost from the US (www.robertsoncomposites.com for one)

Canada Customs won't give a rat's behind about bringing a stock into Canada. The US side, on the other hand, would without proper paperwork from both you and the retailer. This has been discussed ad nauseum here on the forums, there are even stickies regarding importing items on the "naughty list" from the US.

Thank guys,

Those Robertson Stocks are just what I was looking for. Funny I didn't find that sit before as I did search the net for Canadian made stocks but nothing turned up, I just hate bringing stuff through Gestapo land.
