The 458 saga continue or should I say came to an end!! So after I had a hard time to keep the front sight on the barrel I soldered it and it is now on for good… I think!
But the stock had a crack just beside the rejection cutout that was fixed before it got to me, but it cracked again so I fixed it for good, but it cracked bellow my repair, so I fix that and decided it needed a cross bolt between the trigger well and magazine well but the problem is the web there was super thin, so I needed to built it ip with some walnut then shape it and drill the hole for the cross bolt, epoxy everything together and refinish the stock in that area!
Well today after a bunch of shots it is still intact! So I think I’m done with that one for now!
350gn Speer hot-cor going 2570fps giving me 2.125” group at 100m with a M8 3x German #4 scope…. I’m happy and I’m sure it will get better when I put more rounds down the barrel since I’m quite new to that big bore rifle thing!!

I love my .458’s #1 tropical and Ruger 77 tang safety, thousands of rounds fired with no issues, but my favourite hunting load is the 350 reduced to 2400 fps. Full power loads are too much for me lately. I have been playing around with some 350 cam pro plated at around 2000 fps and they are quite tolerable as they are in the 45/70 range.
