I tried search function and even google but couldn't find a definitive answer. How much does a repaired stock affect value? Let's say everything else checked out (no1mkiii with matching numbers but with a "patched" wood on the stock.

It would depend on where and how the stock was repaired and by whom. Stocks were repaired in military maintenance and there are specs on how to do this. Bubba jobs are a different matter.Proper military repair jobs are part of the provenance of the piece so these would help maintain value. Some photos of the repairs would be helpful.

The wood repair on the comb of the buttstock appears to be an original military repair. Rust in the chamber can be removed by polishing with 0000 steel wool. You can either wrap it around a tight fitting bottle brush with the handle bent to an L shape and work back/forth and around or you can remove the bolt and polish the chamber from the rear by wrapping 0000 wool around a tight fitting bore brush, chucking up a segment of cleaning rod with the brush on the end in a variable speed drill and polishing at a low RPM.

To some, they repair would lower it's value or at least make it less desirable. I see it as an original armourers repair and would have no problem with it. It is a well done repair in true craftsman standard
