stock screw bushings 1911

looking for some information, changing the stock screw bushings on my 1911, picked up some new ones and they do not appear to screw into the frame, the new ones measure 0.246 diameter over threads, tried several times without success to get it started

question is there a trick to getting them started or is it possible there are different sizes of screw bushings?

unfortunately I do not have a tap to try the threaded hole and the removed bushings are toast

I changed one on my STI yesterday....took couple of tries; you must first seat the bushing and SLOWLY engage it.

thanks DanRR, taking a few measurements the thread on the drawing for a 1911 says 0.236x60 tpi, the hole in the frame is sizing 0.213 dia, the bushings measure outside of threads 0.249, I know the oversize bushings exist and I believe the bushings I have are now ovesize
