I have owned a BVSS savage for almost 2yrs now. I've used it for benchrest shooting, coyote hunting, and just good ol' plinking fun with the boys.
I can tell you that with a good glass on it, you'll have no issue with the stock, trigger, or barrel while maintaining your accuracy. I have just started to reload however factory 69grn and a hunting hollow point in 55grn seem to obtain the best accuracy. With the 69grn I'm able to continually keep a .6 MOA. I've used it at 600m and can shoot 1/2 min of elev all day long - I'm still perfecting my wind reading shooting tactical (no wind flags). The 55grn hunting I'm consistantly .85 MOA and they are devastating on gophers in SK (visiting family), ground hogs (NB), and coyotes(NB). I haven't hunted on ranges in excess of 350m (YET).
I personally find the stock to be one of the best I own for feel consistancy with cheek weld, and palm feel. Amoung my collection of firearms I have two sendero Rem 700s and a VSSF in 308. However carrying this hunting is not a fun task. I use it strictly from a blind with a portable bench. I keep it in a drag bag until I reach my area.
I have been told from a local gunsmith that the savage barrels have a limited life compared to some of their competitors. I have no idea what proof he has stating that and have yet to see anything that would lead me to think that as of yet. I'm currently at the 1200 round count on this rifle. If anyone has info they would like to share concerning this I would like to know more.
If anyone is interested, I may have a target with a variation different factory ammo types shot at 100m for testing just after the break in period.
Cheers,
Jake
