I'm planning on buying all the 12ga I'll need for the next year on Black Friday.

Italian Sporting Goods is doing CLEVER MIRAGE SUPERTARGET T1 for $69.95 / 250 round case
Cabela's is doing Challenger 12ga for $69.90 / 250 round case

Any preference between the two if you were stocking up? Any difference in quality? Either supporting my LGS, or a Canadian manufacturer

Thanks

I have never used the Clever, but the challenger stuff works just fine for me. No jams in my pump, doesnt stick in my OU but I had two failures with my 3.5 inch inertia semi where it did not cycle.

I have a semi auto who shall not be named. The regular challenger will not cycle properly. The Handicap challenger will always work properly.

Clever is usually more expensive then challenger. So if you've tried it out and it works good for you, load up on it. Ammo don't really expire.

If you are loaded, get both.

I shot some of the Challenger 1oz 1290fps loads last season for all three disciplines in trap and it worked very well, when I did my part and put the pattern where it needed to be! Lol
I can't attest to how it works in a semi as I shoot a single for 16yd & hdcp and an o/u for doubles but it was pleasant to shoot. Recoil was soft. The Clevers I have tried in the past were 1oz loadings and were extremely sharp recoil. I've passed on them since.

I ordered a couple cases of the Challengers on Black Friday, didn't know about the sale at Italian or would have gone for that instead. The Challengers shoot fine but are very dirty. I had read some reviews that mentioned this but I didn't realize how much of a difference it was. Actions, barrels, chokes, everything is a LOT dirtier after shooting the Challengers. They were a good price but I'm going to stick with Clever T1's. I also like the low recoil.

i have almost 10lbs of ammo coming in next week.

The entire order was just ammo and no extra charges for shipping.

10lbs? Well that isn't much ammo or weight so I can understand no extra shipping charges. A single flat(10 boxes) of 12ga target loads is 28lbs/flat. I just picked up an order of 20 flats of Federal Top Gun.

spank, where did you pick up the federal top gun ammo?

Prophet River....a few of us from the club got together and ordered a pallet. Last season just before the season finished I picked up 15 flats of light 8's(1oz @1180fps) for my wife and this order of 20 was for me. Split half light 8's for singles and 1oz 7.5's @1250 for handicap. I'm currently a 25 yarder and like the 7.5's for the longer shot.

I would suggest your timing was good considering supply and prices for 2021.
