The Mk II (or Mk I/2 or Mk I/3) rifle is less common in Canada because it was never a normal issue Canadian service rifle. Every thing for that model has been imported, as opposed to surplussed off. If you find any of the unique parts, snag 'em! You might try Tradex (CGN sponsor too).
That said, the difference between a Mk I and a Mk II stock is the web across the back end has been cut through. The thin sheet metal tie-plate is gone. The indentations for the tie-plate's ends are filled in, and a small nut set on the right side. A small diameter cross bolt connects the two sides of the stock, passing through a concealed "port hole" on the receiver. A handy man could build one up if he had a cracked Mk I stock to work with.

Indeed Maple_Leaf, it's a potential solution. I once did the opposite, turned a Mk1 forend into a Mk2. But, I had once a Mk2 forend that previously was a Mk1, that was worked on by someone else. It's possible. But maybe simpler to give TradeEx a shout
