I finally got the thumbs up from my fiancial advisor so now I'm looking for a new stock (thanks, Babe!)

McMillan is A+ stuff and a long-time maker of quality stocks but I was recently directed towards another company.. Manners Stocks from MO, USA
h**p://www.mannersstocks.com/Tactical.html (they do have dealers in Canada BTW).

I talked to them today and they were great, knowledgeable and courteous. He wasn't the least bit annoyed that I was tire kicking ( I told him outright I was shopping for *a* stock and had not decided yet). Their gear looks good (most interested in their MCS T5A & T4A models) and there is lots of positive things about them on the net.

Anyone have experience with them or own one of their stocks?

Regards,

Don't overlook Ian Robertson here on CGN.
Quality and design as good or better than anything you will find in the US.

Let me gently reinforce the message than Ian R has great stocks. Call him and see if he has something that won't export your $C to the US.

a note about the robertsons - apparently some fitting is needed but its not too bad in my case as i was going to get a gunsmith to bed it, but i had the impression that the rifle would fit out of the box

Question i have a savage 11 FCNS i am looking to build lots of cool rem 700 stocks not so many savage ones any recommendations. Or is it easy to mod the 700 stock to a savage

Sorry, total tangeant here... I liked your sig line:

Ottawa Citizen, 14 Jun 10. "Scientists claim to have answered the question that has confounded philosphers for centuries: which came first, the chicken or the egg? It was, they say, the chicken. A team from Warwick and Sheffield universities examined the formation of a chicken's egg in microscopic detail and discovered the shell was made from a protein found only in a chicken's ovaries. The protein acts as a catalyst to speed up the development of the shell."

Now, scientists just need to find out where that first chicken came from... :)

Robertson composites has some sweet tactical stocks. I ordered one for my
T3 6.5-06 build and the action fits like a glove. Because of the heavy 25" barrel, I need to inlet the barrel channel but no big deal. Give them a call or email and ask for some pics that are not on their website. I don't think you will be dissapointed. I own 3 in the personal collection and have done 4 or 5 other builds on different Robertson stocks. all have been top drawer.

Robertson does not do a good job of advertising everyting they make and carry. Their tac stocks are as good o better than anything. call them and talk with them!!

Manners is a good alternative to McMillan. I have a MCS GAT stock and it is very well made, and very well inletted. I would still go Robertson over all.

I've been looking at the Robertson stocks and that's the way I'm going. I'm getting two of them. They were as good (actually better) than anything else I looked at - and I looked at all the top names.

Here’s a couple pictures of one of them.

It's first class stuff. Based on what I saw you will not get anything any better. They have a full line of high quality accessories you can put on the stock, and just about any option you can think of. And it's all right here in Canada. Bonus. No messing around trying to get it here.
