Looking at buying a cheap O/U, has any one had any experience with the Stoeger Condor Competition ?, looks decent for the price, but I've got mixed reviews from the people I've spoken to., I realize it's not a beretta , browning or a bennelli, but for $700 new, is it worth the money ?

For occasional backyard clays yes. Any long term shooting go with a baikal or used browning or Beretta. The fit n finish is cheap. Ejectors r weak and they rattle and flex. They shoot Ok. The palm swell is nice if u r right handed

I have a Stoeger Semi, just bought it last month and have over 300 rounds through it and love it.

Two different animals so you can't judge by that. Side X sides and over/unders are more complex to make and regulate the barrels ( these are just a couple of points, there are more). The cheaper the price, it stands to reason something is going to give somewhere. Dont know what your intended purpose is but if it is high volume shooting you are planning on, save your money. If it's low volume shooting, then it will probably be okay. Since it would be new, see if the gun even fits you.

Get the Baikal if you are not in the used Beretta price range. I have a Baikal and no they are not pretty but it goes bang when I want it to, locks up tight and if I scratch it I won't cry. Plus you can get a used Baikal in the EE for between 300 and 450 or so (any higher and you are paying too much).

I have the stoeger condor competition, shoots nice, little recoil, about 1000 rds through it with no issues at all. I've taken this out for goose and duck hunting, works well. For the price point it's a good gun. The engraving is a little cheap looking, but otherwise I'd get another one.

For the occasional shooter, something like this would get the job done. That said, for anyone who shoots lots of trap (during the Spring and Summer I shoot about a flat a week), it doesn't take long to rack up the round count, which is where issues start to develop.

In the grand scheme of things, 1000rnds is nothing. Stoeger over and unders are known to be very cheaply made guns.

Save your money and pick up a used Citori or 101.
