I have narrowed my search down to the Stoeger Condor O/U or the combo 12/20 they have. Anyone out there have them and hunt with them? Just curious as how they are for reliability . I like the feel of them. It will be my primary shotgun for hunting geese, ducks, grouse, pheasant and turkey. Opinions please. Also I can't afford the pricey ones even though they are nice. $800-1000 is about max. This is a HUNTING gun for me. I have always wanted an O/U. Thanks guys.

For 1000$ you can find a used browning or beretta which would be a much better choice. Thay are made better feel better and are not heavy for thar gauge and will last forever and wont lose thar value.
I bought a Supreme. It was beautiful and fit me well. Sadly it was defective from the get go. The extractor jumped the rim of the shell in one of the barrels without ever firing a single shot through it. Sent it back to the reair depot and got it back with a couple of nice scratches. Hunted with it for a short while then the inertia trigger died leaving me with a nice single shot. I traded it off back at the store and lost my shirt. 
If I were to buy a Stoeger double again, I'd be looking for double triggers and taking a snap cap to the store with me.

I owned a Stoeger as my first O/U..it served the purpose for two falls... but there are better for the same price

Keep your eyes open for a used gun. Or, have a peek at the CZ line, like the Pheasant or Woodcock guns. Not as nice as the Beretta, Benelli, C-G, or Brownings, but still a much better quality than the Stoeger junk. Stay away from Stoeger and Mossberg doubles.
One of my colleagues had a Stoeger, it may as well have been labelled Norinco. We put up paper to check on the patterning of some particular shells. Despite being an over under, the barrels shot significantly left and right from the same point of aim. That alone speaks volumes about the manufacture of the barrels.
I have the Condor combo (12/20). I have only shot the 12 gauge for the most part and only for trap, but after 3 years and over 10,000 rounds fired with 0 misfires, yes 0 misfires using Federal Trap Loads I am happy with it. It has developed a small crack at the tang but I am not worried about it. Don't let price give you tunnel vision on a particular brand. Make sure the shotgun fits you when you shoulder it. Also have a look at Brownings line of shotguns. They have several under $1000.00.
I was in the same boat. Looking for a cheaper O/U and found an IGA BOITO for like 699 for a 12/20 combo. I was then looking at a Savage Milano which is a really nice gun but then I got a great deal on a new Browning Citori White Lightning. You get what you pay for but I ended up going over budget but it was worth it to me. You can find used Browning's for a couple hundred more than your budget or close to your max.
A guy at the club has one, the competition model. He shoots straight with it all the time and I've yet to seen a malfunction from it, not even a light primer strike. Looks pretty decent too for $750! They are on the EE fairly often if you want to wait a bit.
