Stoeger Double Defence

Played with one, we very disapointed.
The black stock were just painted, the rails were out of spec, looked like there were cast or somthing.
Action was very stiff.
Looked good from about 20 feet away but thats it.

It had so much potential as an idea, but they seriously dropped the ball in execution.

Give it a lightweight synthetic stock, ejectors not extractors, and what's up with the automatic safety? If I'm loading it, it's time to play, action, right now. The extractors, means after you fire two rounds, you get to open the gun, look down, take your fingers and pull out the spent rounds, then hopefully you're not dead, so you can stuff two more rounds, close it, release the safety, and if you're still not dead by some miracle, fire those next two, and pray there's not a fifth guy that needs lead. Better off just using it as a club, or better yet mounting a bayonet, so after the first two rounds, you still have a hope.

For a range toy, sure it could be fun, but given it is marketted as a defensive arm, there's just too much wrong with it to recommend.

I have nothing really bad to say about the Stoeger DD. I bought mine on the EE, have fired it extensively and the action became smooth after a few boxes of shells-it was very stiff intially. Opening and closing it a few dozen times would probably accomplish the same thing-probably give your arms a good workout too-lol. While the stock is painted I have found it be very durable (so far anyway) and the rails on mine look good-I admit I don't know exactly what BBB means by out of spec. Actual synthetic stocks would be a big plus as would ejectors rather than extractors but other than that I have to give the shotgun a good rating-lots of fun to shoot too!:shotgun:

i still have not seen one in person but i was surprised to learn at the Stoeger booth that it has painted stocks instead of synthetic...I am glad i read this thread as well, thanks for the comments.

Sounds like a non-chinese version of the outlaw. Which was a very fun range toy as well. My problem with the DD is that it is marketted as a serious self defense arm, and it falls short of that in several glaring regards. I don't doubt that it's a blast to own and shoot one, it looks pretty cool, but there's about a million other guns I'd rather trust my life to.
