To be closely followed by a "what's required to reload for shotgun" thread :bangHead:

Good lord another piece of shyte in the "Hunting and Sporting" Shotgun section. Holy Shyte could they get any uglier? A SXS can be a thing of beauty. Nice wood quality bluing. How did we ever make it through the night without a Picitany rail?

I've seriously considered this for my farm gun. Late last year, I had five coyotes in the yard hassling the dogs and trying to get at my chicken coop. I got one with my first barrel and missed the second. I got the bucket of my tractor which is black with the second volley. I was trying to hold the flashlight and shoot. If I had one of these, I would most likely have got the pair.

I now have a tactical light taped to the bottom of my 20ga 1100. It would work well and gives me 5 shots although I like the sxs for easy loading, unloading and simplicity for my wife who isn't a regular shooter.

What it looks like really isn't important. This gun lives in the laundry room closet with the broom and ironing board.

SxS shotguns are favored and make sense as general purpose farm guns. If I'm going out to find out what the dogs are barking at, I can load up with buckshot for predators and have a few 4's in my pocket in case it is a racoon. SxS make for easy change.

Apparently they don't bring the 20ga version into Canada although if they did, I'd most likely buy one. I looked at the 12ga version at Al /Simmons in Hamilton. It sure is ugly although I find all tactical stuff ugly.

Fer Chrissakes, don't beat around the bush...tell us what you really think. The guy who wants to buy one might find it useful.

Why do they advertise this as a "defense" gun? I like the idea of a flashlight on a defense gun, but I think I would want more then two shots.

And that guy might find a bit more information over in the black and green shotgun forum... then again, that guy might want to seriously reconsider his choice. I played with one in Italian Sporting Goods and to compare it to other roughly made shotguns would be an insult to roughly made shotguns. This thing is downright brutal.

I have one. It wasn't what I had in mind when I went looking but the price was too good to pass up. I must say that I love my Double D. Yes, it's ugly as sin... but is it ever FUN. Both barrels are ported and mod choked to make it slug friendly. It's so much fun at the range. Plus it breaks down into nice compact little sections making it easy to take to the cottage without lugging around a gun case advertising that I'm armed.

The Stoeger Double Defense looks great and functions great too. I was looking at one at Williams Arms today. So there you go OP, Williams Arms still has one from when you were told many days ago. Don't wait too long, as I liked it enough to call on Tuesday and get it for me. Since it is like a cowboy gun it is a perfect defense gun, since you can load the 2 shells mighty quick, fire them, dump the shells, and reload insanely fast with practice, just watch some cowboy action videos.

I got mine at P&D, and like a previous poster, it was too good of a price to pass on. I removed the top rail cuz it was too wonky, but it has a sweet hi-viz sight anyway. I love it. Ported barrels, decent choke, break-down friendly and a single trigger-what's not to like? Worth the money I paid for it. If you're looking for an economical double, it's a good bet. If you're a hater-don't buy it.
