Recently purchased a Stoeger Coach gun after playing around with one in a gun shop. I have been looking for a shorter and lighter gun for grouse for a long time now since I am getting sick of lugging my 870 super Mag around.
My first impression with this gun was "holy crap is it ever short". With a twenty inch barrel, it has the look of a kids shotgun with an oversized butt. However once I shouldered this bad boy, all my fears went away and I had the sense of "this gun is for me". Lots of googling and forum searching later and I had purchased one of these beauties in 20 ga. :shotgun:

A friend of mine has access to some property in the area and asked me along for some skeet last weekend. Had to take the oppourtunity to squeeze some shell out of the new toy, so we met up with three of the owners and proceeded to shoot.

The gun performed surprisingly well and didn't miss a beat on the clays. Being so short and light you would think the kick would be ridiculous but I barely felt it; even while dropping both hammers at the same time.

The thing that impressed me the most with this gun was how much fun it was to shoot. Cant say Ive had that much fun shooting a single gun since I first fired a 3030 winni.

One by one the gun caught the attention of the property owners and each in turn asked if they could take it out for a few shots. Although skeptical at first, each of the owners were impressed by the end of the day.

All in all, I am super happy with it and can't wait to tackle some grouse this fall.
