Hey folks,

Bought a Stoeger Longfowler at Basspro last August, haven't gotten to use it much. Recently took it on a hunting trip and the top barrel failed to fire. Thought it was ammo at first, then came to realize the firing pin wasn't striking at all. stripped it down and noticed that one of the hammers was slipped past the seer block, causing it to not fall forward and strike the firing pin when the trigger is pulled. I've come to terms that the gun seems to over-flex when broken open. I do not know if there is a problem with the actual opening of the shotgun, or if the hammer is milled too short.

Essentially my question boils down to is there anyone who knows or can recommend a fix without sending off the gun for warranty work. Hoping that the fix is as simple as ordering a new hammer and having it changed out.
Also if it helps, the hammer codes for the stoeger condor are: Part # 347, 348. Code # HL-12-347, HL-12-348. https://www.stoegerindustries.com/s...ingle_trigger_extractor_model_and_defense.pdf

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks all.

Did a quick search and found this video

It looks to me like the problem this guy demonstrates is the same problem you have. When I watched his video, it looked to me that the problem could be because the part that switches from the bottom sear to the top sear is binding. When he pulls the trigger several times, it falls into place. Looks like a little degreasing, deburring, and general slicking up and adjusting would get it working. Pretty crude design.
