What do you guys think? Wholesale has camo ones with 5 chokes for $689.00 I think it seems like a pretty good deal. You guys are the experts! Any info or experiences with them would be appreaiated! Thanks fellas.

cheap cheap cheap cheap cheap
i own one
after aprox 2500-3000 ronds, i have missfire, not due to my ammo, and the gun is as clean as possible.
this is a weird made shotgun. take a pump action, put a coilspring to moove parts foward, and you have a stoeger model 2000. anyway, it work.
it comes with 5 chokes, i have a great patern with theses chokes. everything on this shotgun is hard and dont work as weel as a benelli, but it works.

some tests i tried. . . . . .
find a lake, submerge your weapon and shake well. it shoot well
then i tried with sand and dust, it shoot well
i have tried ice and show, yes i hade a little problem, bolt was completly frozen, after few rounds ice was(parti, décongelé, pu la)

its a crap
if you absolutly want one, take it black. the camo paint is the same of the gun, crap

Bummer... :(
I wanted to purchase the Stoeger 2000 for general purpose small game & duck hunting.
So what are the alternatives for less than 800 $ ?
The 11-87 ?
I already have a 870, but there's a sidesaddle on it (illegal for duck & goose) and i don't have a proper barrel (20" IC rifle sight).

I bought one about 2 years ago...so far no problem but you have to "Break it in" shoot a couple boxes of heavy loads . Of course I must mention that I don't shoot shotguns much ,the occational trap shoot, but that's the reason I bought the Stoeger ...occational shooting . The salesman told me that if I'm going to use it every weekend and shoot a couple of hundred shots each time and shoot year round ...this is not the right gun !!! but as I mentioned I shoot trap 3 or 4 times a summer and I didn't want to spent a lot of $$$$$ for a gun that won't be using much...You have to know what you're going to do with it...It works for me:D

I've got one in black synthetic. It works like a champ. Cycles everything from the lightest wal-mart bulk stuff to the 3" heavy loads without issue. I've got about 400 or so rounds through mine without any problems whatsoever. I would definately recommend one. If you do a search, you should be able to find another thread about the same shotgun. Most people in that thread seemed to think they are a good buy.

Doesn't remington have a synthetic version of the 11-87 out for around $680. I think I'd take that over the stoeger any day. If I remeber right I saw it in the SIR or Wholesle sports catologe.
