Will the Nordic Components +1 tube extension accomodate one extra 3" shell or do I need the +2 extension? Thanks.

You can always buy the larger extension and epoxy a plug to only take 5x 3" shells, or whatever you are looking for. Typically, NC extensions specify that if it is marked as plus 1,2,3 etc, they mean 2.75 shells.
NC has a great website that explains capacities for each gun/ extension.

A plus 2 is all you need. I borrowed one and it was great. But I bought a Nordic plus 6 from Tacord and put a plug in because it sticks about 1.5" past the end of my barrel. Two reasons. It looks badass and it doesn't screw up my chokes when I drop it in a dump box.
I think you get the same spring no matter what you buy so be sure to trim it. A plus 1 might be fine but I don't like the feel of cramming shells in on a really compressed spring.
Someone on this site said it perfectly as, don't think of it as fitting only 5 but think of it as not fitting 6.

An unrelated piece of advice about the M3K. I know this from my own experience and from watching 2 friends struggle with it after 500 rounds.
Here it is........good gun but NEEDS Benelli parts in the bolt. Extractor and extractor spring for sure. I also changed the inertia spring and polished the extractor pocket. Cheap fixes and makes it run reliable.

I went with a +4 on mine because I liked the look better (and you never know when the rivet-removing Zombie apocalypse is going to hit). You should be fine with a +1 for a total of 5.75 x 3" in the magazine, but if you want to be sure, do as 303 and Rust suggested and go longer and plug the extension accordingly.

Thanks for the replies.

Rust, I like the idea of 6 x 3" shells not fitting versus fitting for 5 shells. A +6 would be a good idea to protect the chokes. Do you find the gun muzzle heavy with a +6 with a plug? I will use the M3K for 3 gun and wondered if would be harder to swing. Then again, competitors abroad swing that gun with a fully loaded tube... Thanks.

You won't notice a difference in weight or on target transitions with a mag tube extension.

Nonsense. I can tell the difference between the a2 birdcage and new muzzle brake on my muzzle device on my ar15. I found a 2.0oz lighter to be a different rifle entirely compared to the rifle in stock form.

Hell I can tell if my tube fed shotgun is loaded or not by shouldering it.
