There has been a lot of negative comments about Stoeger service and its handling of Benelli, Beretta and Stoeger repairs. My DT10L decided that it would open upon firing last fall. I learned that Beretta doesn not recommend holding the action lever while cloasing the action. My antique guns are all handled this way to prevent wear! it seems that by holding the action lever, the action does not sit well increasing wear and tear! As it is a DT10L with engraving on the closing action, it could not be repaired here in Canada and as it is Canadian, could not be repaired and upgraded in the US. Stoeger took my DT10L shipped it to the Premium gun shop in Brescia (their expense and a whole lot of Italian paperwork!). Had the original builder of my gun modify it and repair the action. Sent it back to Stoeger. I called yesterday to inquire. "We think it is on the way back". I had a UPS truck at my driveway an hour a go. He delivered my DT10L, cleanned, oiled, fixed! No ChARGE!

Be nice, speak softly, explain clearly the problem, be patient!

Regards,
Henry;)

Maybe all the great customer service offered by CG and loss of market share to CG over the last few years has made them rethink the way they treat their customers.

In any event I'm glad you got your gun back in good shape before the Spring Deuce.

How long did all of this take Henry?
I was on their Pro Staff program for a few years and asked for a 28 inch barrel for a Teknys as my gun came with a 30. Two years later it showed up. FS

I shipped it out the second week in January as I did not want it to sit somewhere at a Canada Post warehouse during the holidays. Yes, it is probable that my reputation was helping. I originaly was going to contact the Italian fellow from Beretta that handles us competition shooters in Europe. One year, he arranged a semi private visit for a few of us of the engraving shop, the premiun gun works and the Beretta museum. He is a very pleasant young chap that makes sure that Beretta shooters are well taken cared of. I give him a can or jar of maple syrup every year. But, I misplaced his card. I asked Stoeger to locate him for me and explained (very calmy) my displeasure with the young fellow that took Mario's (Beretta factory service van) place at the World FITASC in Italy. I have my Berettas serviced every year since 2000 by Mario at various shoots in Europe. BTW, this is a FREE service to any Beretta shooter and no matter what the age of the Beretta! The young fellow was asked to make sure that both triggers were at 2 Kg and check the gun. He did the triggers but should of noted the wear! A few days later, they said to call them. I did and they told me to ship the gun to them and Beretta would take care of everything.

Thanks Stoeger!

Henry;)
